Best Burgers – EVER!
Home-made burgers are finger licking good and healthier when you know yourself the quality ingredients going into them! We have some secret ingredients revealed to make the ultimate burger.
Makes: 4
Ingredients:
800g quality steak mince
1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon of soy sauce
1 egg yolk
Finely chopped – cooked onion
Finely chopped parsley and rosemary
Salt and Pepper
Brush the cooked Burger with:
1 dash of tabasco
1 small dollop of American mustard.
Sauce:
2 tablespoons of Mayonnaise
1 tablespoon of Red Sauce
1 teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon of tabasco sauce
Dressings:
1 finely sliced red onion - marinated in a splash of white wine vinegar
2 gherkins – sliced
4 burger buns or blaas
4-8 rashers - smoked streaky are good
Slices of The Little Milk Company Cheddar or Little Milk Company Organic Cashel Blue!
Slices of tomato and some chopped lettuce
Method:
Slice thinly the red onion and put in a bowl to marinade with a good tablespoon of white wine vinegar. Set aside until assembling the cooked burger.
Chop another onion finely. Cook in a frying pan till transparent – leave to cool.
In a mixing bowl, combine gently the mince, egg yolk, cooked chopped onion, Worchester sauce, soy sauce, finely chopped herbs and salt and pepper.
Divide into 4 and shape.
On a hot non-stick frying pan cook 2 burgers per time
Fry for approx. 1-2 mins on a high heat
Flip and brush the cooked side with some mild mustard and tabasco sauce
Flip again, brushing the other cooked side with mild mustard and tabasco sauce
Put the cheese on top and let the burgers rest and the lovely cheese melt, meanwhile fry up your rashers.
Combine your sauce ingredients and put a dollop on each bun. Place your cooked burger on top with cheese, followed by your rashers, a sliced gherkin, some lettuce, tomato and finally the top bun or blaa!
