KALE BAKE

HEALTH BENEFITS: Kale is very high in nutrients and very low in calories, making it one of the most nutrient-dense foods on the planet.

Many powerful antioxidants are found in kale, including quercetin and kaempferol, which have numerous beneficial effects on health.

Kale contains substances that bind bile acids and lowers cholesterol levels in the body.

CHEESE is full of calcium and a good source of protein.

KALE IS KING!

Ingredients:

1 finely chopped onion

2 cloves of garlic – one finely sliced and 1 clove crushed

700g Washed Kale (we love Beechlawn Organic Kale!)

1 cup of Breadcrumbs

150g Grated Little Milk Company Cheese

Method:

In a frying pan, heat up a small amount of oil, fry up your onions for a couple of minutes – then add your finely sliced garlic.

Roll up your leaves of kale and chop.  We don’t like waste so we removed the tough kale stalks, chop finely.  Add the kale to the frying pan and cook for approx. 3-4minutes.

In an oven proof dish add your cooked onion, garlic and kale mixture. Sprinkle approx. 150g of grated The Little Milk Company cheese over the top.

Once your frying pan is empty – fry up a little butter and add some crushed garlic. Fry up for 1 mins.  Then add your breadcrumbs and fry till they are slightly crusty.

Sprinkle your crusty breadcrumbs over the top!

Bake a pre-heated oven 190’C for approx. 20 minutes.

Enjoy!
